Friends Indeed
This project is an ongoing series created with my good friend Warren. Warren writes and I draw so together we go back and forth with prompts. I’ll draw something and he will write to go along with the drawing and vise versa.
This first one was written by Warren to start. Once I received the prompt I knew I wanted to make a book cover design for it. I had lots of children’s book range ideas but knew I wanted a funny, more mature fantasy cover.

Friends Indeed
Take utmost heed
Of changing leaves in a forest that breathes, a sight for the soul to feed.
To walk upon lake and catch plenty splake, a risk worthwhile to take.
Memories to make
Take a step back
See that buck’s rack or the bear who’s all black perhaps a wolf’s track
Find chanterelles by a brook maybe hare in a nook or time that it took
Just simply to look
Cooks in the house
Drum of a grouse, duck with a louse
Freshly plucked teal, trout off the reel
Homemade harvest meal
True paths are narrow
Piercing as the arrow, nourishing as bone marrow
Deeper than any pond and boundless into beyond
The outdoorsmen’s bond
